At the risk of seeming to be both a pseudo intellectual and elitist or worse yet a pest, I’m back here again with another thread.
The simple fact is that I felt this was just too comprehensive, well written and leading edge not to share with fellow bird lovers - I mean, “two grains of rice” ( ???) :

Some will appreciate this…
Thanks for taking the risk. I enjoyed the article. All of us can benefit from some intellectual stimulation on occasion. It's amazing as I grow older, I realize how much I really don't know. Recent technology has aided our ability to better understand the bird's world. Their world reminds me of how it must have felt in 1492 when Columbus embarked on his journey, without a map, without technology, etc. Just the stars .... and the wind. But then, there is that "magnetic field" that Columbus didn't have. Some birds are getting smarter, also .... like the Canada Goose. Some geese have said, "why should I fly back and forth, thousands of miles, when I can live fat and happy in one place" ... and pay no taxes.
We all have a lot to learn ........ about the behavior of everyone and everything, around us.
