Do roosters ba-GAWK?

Dacula, GA(Zone 7b)

I have a 14 week old Easter Egger I think is a rooster. The other roo in the cage is scratchy crowing. This morning when I went out to feed them (there are 2 pullets in the same cage) the one was going bawk bawk bawk bawk ba-Gawk. Thought it was one of my big girls in their coop, but they were very quiet. This bird has been at the bottom of the pecking order since they all were hatched. The comb is very roo like and what remains of the tail looks the same as the other confirmed roo. So is he just a mocking-chicken or what?

my rooster does that all the time. i think there is something wrong withone of my hens, and when i check on them its the rooster

I have a blue copper marans rooster in one pen that every morning goes out and hollers "bawk bawk"....and then a younger golden cuckoo marans rooster in the pen next to him runs up and finishes his song with "ba Gawk!!" as loud as he can! LOL
It is a daily routine for them and pretty funny.

My roosters do it to. I think "Lay the egg already!" and it is one of the boys. LOL

My kids will go outside and make bagawking noises and the roosters will all start up with it and the hens too, it becomes very noisy, the kids think it's hilarious.

Thanks all. He is still doing it, so I guess he's just one that bawks. I hope to rehome both young roosters this week. Getting up to the one crowing at 5:40 is getting pretty tiresome.

Try having some crow at 4 or 4:30. Ours do that, but we have gotten so used to it that it doesn't wake us anymore.
