Pretty Lin!! Are those Osteospermum?
Oh Connie!! Happy Birthday!!
Melanie
Yes, "African Daisy", Osteospermum 'Astra Purple Sunset'. I had some purple ones that have come back the past three or four years so I wanted to get more this spring. I was at a local nursery and they had lots of them with the label Astra Purple Sunset so I bought them thinking they would be just like the ones I already had. At first when the blooms began peeking open I was a bit disappointed but when they were fully open I realized no disappointment was necessary, they are gorgeous and I really like them a lot!
This is the lilac/purple color Osteospermum I've had growing in beds for a few years.
Hi Lin;
Oh thoses are so pretty. really like them,good to see you posting, been awhile.

Hey there Miss Bonnie! I haven't been on line much the past few months ... sporadic at best, and when I do get a chance to log in, I don't post much. It's been a really busy spring ... and summer is going to be busy too.
I'm not growing any AV's right now. I still have three Chirita's alive, one looks pretty good but the other two are iffy LOL, and I think I saw a micro mini Sinningia sprouting in a glass jar out on my back porch (although it could very well be a weed!) It's been out there for almost a year and we had a horribly cold winter, I'm watching it to see if it continues to grow until I can tell for certain what exactly it is that's growing!
Well, I'm off to visit a friend and her elderly mom who is in town visiting. Have a great evening!
Lin
OOOH,
Love the Purple Sunset too!! I'm also really fond of the yellow and the white with purple eye Osteospermums too.Here they are annual and a bit expensive.
