seem like nice place from the snoofing around I did last night

Brookville, PA(Zone 5a)

well Donna it would be a sad website if they started censoring what we do and talk about..and i'm afraid that its going to come to that..i sure hope so, cause i love keeping in touch with everyone..if not then ill keep in touch from facebook..

Portland, OR(Zone 8b)

There's also backyardchickens.com. I know that's been mentioned a lot here as a reference.

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

This is a sad time here..

Ferndale, WA

Yes it is ZZ's, a very sad time, I only know for myself I won't renew and will soon fade off into the sunset...Hay

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I am not renewing either.

Lodi, United States

I think a lot of people will be taking their golden eggs and going home....

Spiro, OK(Zone 7a)

Hmmmm, consider me officially out of the loop. Would someone mind sending me a Dmail so I understand what's happening to the site??

Bridgewater, ME

Yes I would like a Dmial as to whats going on to.

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

Here is one of the best forums I know of. It is not much of a chatting forum but you can not beat it for information. Most of the people here breed rare and endangered birds.

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

I will renew. I see no reason not to enjoy both sites. If several of you leave, it will accomplish nothing. Everyone won't leave.. it may cripple the site, but it won't shut down. I think the more people who walk away only feed IB's fire. I have too much invested here to walk away. If we knew 1/2 the things big business does that we don't agree with, it would be impossible to boycott everything just because someone was wronged.

I support D with all my heart, but refuse to give up my "home"....

It will be lonely here, but I've met too many friends here to walk away. Stone me if you will.

Portland, OR(Zone 8b)

ZZ - Thank you, I was not going to renew after my subscription expires the end of June but your point of view has made me change my mind. I have learned so much here, most of whichI will never apply to my life at this point, but more than that I have made a lot of friends here. I'll be here with you.

Ferndale, WA

I think your point is well taken ZZ's, but then again there is life after Daves Garden...Hay

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

for me it is just a case of lost interest since becoming disabled and not able to do what I used to do. I joined Daves because I was big in to gardening/wildlife habitating something I can no longer do and haven't been for 5 yrs now. I finally gave up as my condition has worsened and I couldn't keep them all watered in pots so I got rid of 2 U-Haul trailers full and the bed of a big Dodge 2 x full of plants over the last 2 winters to another DG'r for free. Just with if I ever want something back she would root it for me. I have had my Exotic ducks and a new Aviary built in my back yard so I don't have to walk to the pond and drag a water hose. Everything I need is right in the Aviary. Not enough to keep me busy so I started on some chickens that I have always wanted and it is just enough to get me outside and still moving a few hours a day at my lesiure

Richmond, TX

Donna it sounds as if your "chicken habit" is a lot better planned and thought out than most.

Southern NJ, United States(Zone 7a)

I do hope that people consider carefully before leaving and don't do anything hasty. Although this is a sad situation, letting your membership here lapse won't help and there will just be that many fewer to share information and stories with. I have learned so much from the poultry and vegetable forums here, and it's because of all of you.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

PP I had to do something to fill my days with DH gone 14 of them. I would rather be dead than have to sit in the house 24/7. I want to be able to keep moving as long as I can on my own 2 feet. I have chair in or beside all the cages and I sit and visit with them all daily and it might as well be things I have always wanted to do that I'm able. Guess that is why I am so angry over the Araucanas I received. I pd 8+ dollars a chick and was supposed to get a few tufted ones. 1 of them is now growing a tail so all are not even rumpless. Well at least I found another source now. He said he had just sold a dbl tufted poult that wasn't show quality for 20 dollars. Just exactly what I was wanting since I have no plans to breed or show. He has my e-mail now and will let me know what he has in fall

(Zone 6b)

Haystack, we can't lose you! What would this place be like without your humor and common sense?

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

Donna, I know you are into the exotic ducks and if you go to the forum I posted up a few post, you should find lots of people who are into like birds. Dan is a supper guy and has had this site for a few years. He keeps it up to date and has a very knowledgeable members list.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I am a member already Ken but thanks for the heads up ;-)

Kingman, AZ(Zone 7a)

Ok someone please DMail me and let me know what is going on... All of my wonderful friends that have been with Billy and me will surly be missed if you leave. I noticed that some have not posted lately and it is like missing old friends,.. I need you all....

(Zone 6b)

Hay, are you still angry with me for saying we should send you a plastic snake in the mail? :(

Ferndale, WA

Are you kidding me, that comment should warrant a good spanking...LOL, How could I ever be mad at you or anyone else here on the forum. I did say I would not renew my subscription, but I still have until Dec and intend to continue to enjoy the incredible friends here til that time comes...I have learned that we all are different and I think thats a good thing. I have always been a strong principaled person, and believe that sometimes principle is more important than substance. There are times when my faith brings me to decisions that most would disagree with or not understand, yet I cannot find it within me to take leave of what I believe. The friends here on this forum will continue with me where ever I go. That is the incredible capacity of the organ, we call the heart. It can carry friends for life...Hay

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

I could not agree with you more. Hope to see you at TGP.

(Zone 6b)

Ironically, I came back to dg for solace, peace, and comfort.

What is funny about that is I didn't like it here because I felt stifled. I could not discuss my two favorite topics, religion and politics.

So I went to FB and made 1000 friends... term used lightly. They know all the bad things going on in the world of NWO and globalism and the dangers of vaccines, 911 truth and much more. It honestly became too much for me to deal with. I mean, gee, how much bad news can one person take?

People tried to explain DG to me several times, that it is a place for leaving the world behind and be happy with the simple natural things of life. Sometimes that is exactly what we need.

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Now that I know more about what was happening, my anger is shifted somewhat.

I think every single angle should have been worked out LONG before launching an alternate site knowing he has thousands of loyal followers who are willing to work hard to contribute again.

I still don't understand what leaving here would accomplish.

I agree L_F_J this is a place to enjoy, and I do. :)

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

I used to enjoy it a lot more.

Southern NJ, United States(Zone 7a)

ZZs, I agree. We'll never know what really happened, and meanwhile I like all of you guys too much to leave! Where else would I get my chicken fix, anyway?

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Me too Cajun.. it's not the same, but I'm too stubborn to give up ship. LOL

You know what? I don't WANT to know what happened! I just want to look at chicken pics, learn more, laugh more and talk horses.. :)

Richmond, TX

The site we're not allowed to mention is back up at least temporarily! Go see.

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

I saw it and thought his response about doing something sneaky was a major turn off.

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

It's hardly sneaky when everybody has the capability to do it.

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

It's about integrity.

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

We all have our own opinions and our rights to them. Just one of the things that makes our country great.

(Zone 5b)

I'm really torn about this. I love DG. It's been my sanity during a very difficult year. There are other forums that I've read for YEARS but never posted. DG had a different feeling and I jumped right in. People have been supportive, informative, FRIENDLY, caring and so many of the posts really do make me laugh out loud. I look forward to reading DG. I've never met anyone on the poultry forum - but I care about everyone here, and their chickens. I'm very shy but this place has a community/family feeling to me, which doesn't come easily. I would eat an entire jar of Vegemite for anyone here.
I've never met D*** but am grateful for this site. With all my heart I believe in loyalty and honesty. The conversations about the latest...well, I'm going to wait until the emotional dust settles and see what the facts & contracts are. Until then, I'm going to roost here.
