I have a couple bulbs from last year, but still no stalks or blooms..just leaves.

So jealous, they don't grow well in my zone (only 1 out of 5 bloomed the first year and none the second). I used to grow them in CA and loved them. They multiply really well too if you are in a very mild climate.

Roly, how deep are yours planted? I have some that I purchased a few years ago and planted in the ground, but they have never bloomed. I bought 3 bulbs and planted them in a pot about a month ago and they bloomed. What gives? All of the bulbs are about the same size and planted with their necks even with the soil line.

My bulbs were about 2 inches below the surface and as you can see all 3 came up, produced foliage and bloom. The third spike has 6 buds in it all together. They will stay in the pot until the bulbs get too crowded. Then I'll move them to a new pot.

Thanks! I'll move the ones in the ground to pots and see what they do.
