This bird built a nest in my Barbecue, and has babies in it. We have been talking pictures of the babies, but want to know what kind of bird it is. this is the Mommy. We are in Pocatello, Idaho, and I just took the picture.

Thanks Resin, is the difference that European have the speckles all over, whereas Common ones have a "plain" chest?

European Starling is just an old alternative name for Common Starling.

Speckles is winter plumage, plain chest is summer plumage (and young birds are mousy grey all over).
