I have a patch where there was obviously some kind of seed spill. Two different things growing there. Here's the first. I thought it might be a seedling from something in my garden, but now it has flowers (or something) on the stem. Don't have anything like that planted purposely.
More IDs weeds or not?
I don't know what they are, but I have a bizallion of the 2nd one. They come up in every flower bed I have in the back yard. I think they may be sprouting from seeds dropped from a tree in my neighbors yard, but I don't know what kind it is. Whatever they are, they are certainly plentiful, but pull up easily if you don't wait until they're too big. I hope someone on here can ID them.

I am going to say by the look of the first it is a weed. And I don't know what the 2nd one is but I have been fighting it for 2 or 3 yrs. It is a weed.
When I see plants with so many seeds on them I immediately think weeds.
The first one looks like Pigweed, but I am not sure.
The second one is called Hairy Crabweed,or Mulberry weed, Fatoua villosa a very invasive plant form Asia.

The first one is Pennsylvania Pellitory. I have that also. It's a weed, but also a host plant for the Red Admiral. This is the first year I've actually seen the caterpillars use it, however. And BTW, the pic of the Red Admiral caterpillar is actually on Stinging Nettle, another host plant I have.

Hey! I've seen a few of those in my flower beds! Now I know what they are!
I think you both hit the nail on the head. Josephine, mine don't look yet like your pictures, but when it gets away from me over at my parents' house, that's exactly how it blooms. Ugh.
I think I have red admirals in my back yard, but I haven't seen any caterpillars that look like that. This is also the first time I've ever seen this plant. I think I will pull this one up and find another host. Thank you both for the help.
Thank you Linda, that is it, here is a link to Pennsylvania Pellitory;
