I had no idea this one was in bud till I turned the plant around. Flowers very beautiful, much larger than I thought they would be and smell of Peaches ( something else in the scent too.....smoked salmon?...but very nice combination )

I don't know what this one is called. My mother brought back a plant 25 years ago from Hawaii and this is my grown cutting. I think it's augustifolia? I just moved it outside a month ago. It'll bloom all summer.

Cool pot holder. That is a neat way to display a vining plant like these. Yours favors my H. carnosa ~ silver queen that just started blooming today.

Hope no one minds ~ moving the Hoya blooms to June... http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1103517/

I think you are correct. It looks like a carnosa, thanks.

A very pretty and willing bloomer isn't it? And even more meaningful that it was from your Moms' Hoya.

Beautiful flowers, everyone!

Dominic,
My H. buotii is blooming now, but it's white/cream and does not have any red in it at all. I've never seen a photo of H. buotii with red in the flowers. Where did you get your plant?

I smelled my H. buotii and it did not smell very good at all. H. buotii is my most vigorous grower - it NEVER stops growing no matter what the season. I love the fuzzy flowers!
Thanks,
Mike

I'll bet its that hot and humid Spanish sun. It'll probably do the same for me given we're in the cold north part of the world that gets such weak sun...lol...

Teguise, Spain

Mike, I got it from Torill Nyhuss, H buotii IML 1862.
Did you notice a hint of Smoked Salmom in the scent? I cant put it down to anything else....

Minneapolis, MN(Zone 5a)

Hi Dominic,
Sorry, I have not been back here for a while.

The flowers are gone so I'll have to wait until it blooms again to smell it. I did go and look at the flowers after I saw this post and there was a little redishness in the center of the flower (corona?); it was not pure white like I had remembered it (incorrectly.)
Thanks,
Mike
