sunterri pump cant find filter HELP!

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

I have looked everywhere, on the net everywhere.
Any help would be appreciated.
This pump has a filter that is black (foam like) that is about a 4"x4" square with a hole in the center. Actually since the filter has caved in the sides it could be 5x5, and just not sprung back out. I have used it for several years, washing it out and such, but I think it needs replaced.
Any help would be appreciated.

See if this can help you, I see one sponge filter replacement.

I even emailed them with no success. Somebody sells the filter for the small pump, and some have even tried putting 2 smaller filters together to use, I just wanted the original type filter.

You may want to make your own and not buy a pre cut filter. Many outlets sell filter media by the foot. You can lay your old filter on the new and use it as a template to get the exact shape & size your need. That's what we did and it is more cost effective than buying a precut one.

Like a pond outlet? If it doesn't come 4 inches square I guess I could cut enough to make it 4 or 5 inches.

Here is a link to something that may work. It would need to be cut to size, but 4" x4" is such a small filter your should be able to make many. You can also check at a pet store that sells aquarium supplies. They may have filter mats that can be cut to size.

Oh didn't think of a pet store. Thank you Beahive, I will check the website. I am desperate. Can't keep the pump running.

Ebay has TONS of cheap pumps (as well as replacement parts) :)

Knew I would get good suggestions. Thanks.

Pump runs great if I can find a new filter so it can keep sucking water....LOL
But that is a good idea, when this one bites the dust.

What about cutting one from the big porous sea sponges?

I figured it must be like an oil filter for your car, I would think it would some how have to be as poruous as my original filter or it might burn up the pump. Course if I can't run the pump it isn't any good anyway.....

I forgot but I use these Nufoam bumper pads (cut to size) for the pump filter in my little fountain. If they are to thick for your applications they can be split in two.

Thank you BeaHive, I will check into those. Isn't crazy that I just can't buy a replacement filter. Guess if I ever buy a new pump I will buy a case of filters, course then the filter would go out before the filters were used!
