My yard is under attack!

Arlington, TX

Alright, I can put up with some bugs but this year is insane. My brug flowers have been eaten along with various other items. I see beetles and other new comers to the yard but the one creature that is really having a population explosion is slugs! Yes, the small, slimey mollusks have taken over out there. I need some advice on how to get rid of them without poisioning the dogs or myself in the process.
PS Don't recomend escargo!

Sluggo Plus is what we use. You can sprinkle them with salt and they'll die on the spot, but you can't plant anything there, so I would only do that if you see it on a flat surface such as a driveway or sidewalk.

Do you just put sluggo out into a bed? I went out to kill some, yes I know its gruesome but there are alot out there. When I came back in...well now they are just mocking me!

I put beer into flat dishes they love it and it kills them pretty fast. Tina

Sluggo is what I use to. It's environmentally safe and non-toxic. It works great on slugs and snails both. My amaryllis and crinum seem to be their favorite dinner plants in my garden and I had huge amounts of them before using this product. It's safe to sprinkle on the flower beds around any plants. It can be found at my local Lowe's and it's stocked with the other "green gardening" items and not with the other pesticides.

The thing with the beer traps is that you have to empty them every morning or they start stinking. Also have to refill with beer. We've had them bad this year, too. I've even seen 2 in the house!

Just sprinkle the granules around, especially in areas where they seem to be eating plants or congregating.
