This one has a few leaves with metallic pink. The rest have silver.
ID's PLEASE
Very hard to tell on all of them. Have you looked at the Houston web site to see if any of those come close to what you have? Even then it may not be entirely correct. Some of the experts say if it didn't come with a tag then don't try to find an ID for it since it may be incorrect and you would inevitably pass it along with the wrong name. I always tell people when I give cuttings of a plant I don't know that I think it is blah-blah but I may be wrong. Anyway even some of the places you can buy plants from are often wrong too.
The first one reminds me of Lana, the second one looks similar to Frosty but I'm probably way off base on that one. The third one could be Cracklin Rosie but it is hard to tell by the side view. The fourth one looks like one I have called Eastgate or Down Home.
Houston site is:

You will have to click on each name since they don't have thumbnails. There are many broken links too and I wish they would fix that but it has been like that for years.
Thank you for your input. : ) I will check out Houston's. I can post more pics. Some have flowers... maybe that will help. The third one is driving me bonkers. LOL. I have Rosie. She has wider wavy leaves with big pink dots. Rosies leaf lacks the marking at bottom of leaf too. Her growth is erect with only like four leaves at top. The one in question has longer leaves with small silver dots and a spot at tip of bottom of leaf. (Like it was tipped with silver paint)
Maybe one day you will stumble on the same plants at a nursery or a friend's home that has the real name. There are so many that look alike which also adds to the confusion. They should take the best canes that stand out from the rest and make those standards and the rest as wannabes but who would dare make those decisions.
Some people say to bury one tag in the soil written in pencil and one tag above soil for easy reading. If you lose both tags then enjoy it for yourself or compost it. Personally I think I will enjoy them all and anyone who wants a piece regardless of names will get a cutting.
well I guess you told me...LOL..
You and the experts are right... my brain is chowder from analyzing begonia leaves for days. I had forgotten how cumbersome IDing these rascals can be. I did the same thing last year!! My plants are my "happy place"...I tend to block out the headaches and keep it as light as possible. However, I will remember to enjoy them for their year round flowers and graceful leaves rather than collecting named varieties. Melanie
