I don't know a bulb from a rhizome

Windsor, CA(Zone 9b)

I have a Poly kingianum ssp kingianum growing in a shaded area in my back yard. Today when I watered it I saw this exposed bulb (or whatever it is) about 10" or more away from the kingianum.
The bulb was very loose but had a root or something that ran toward the kingianum. I think that it belongs to the kingianum. I covered it up with soil and watered it. Any thoughts or suggestions or idea? Thanks, Xuling
