What not to do

Arlington, TX

Been feeling depressed about the state of my back yard. Too many projects and not enough finished has made it look like a construction zone. Went out today and realized there are still some plants to enjoy out there.

This wine cup is about 3 years old and it has never been this big. I don't know if you can tell from the pic but it is covering an area about 2' by 4'.

It looks like a happy and carefree garden and the photos show a garden that looks healthy.

Don't be depressed --one day at a time...that is what I try to remember.

Easy to feel overwhelmed. I also have to focus on little areas (and blur out the weeds) The wine cup is lovely. I have a white one that is also spreading out.

Cheryl, it looks great! I really like the winecups and phlox pilosa combination. It is so easy to get overwhelmed, but I always take a walk about the gardens and check everything out and celebrate the good things. I wish I could ignore the weeds, but if I do, they take over everything!

I definately want to grow a few more wine cups, even if they don't have long bloom time in my garden.

Sorry to sound dumb - what's a wine cup? They're really pretty and maybe I could find a spot for them?
