A bird got caught but I don't know which. All the feathers on the ground are a grey, and some of the tail feathers look like this. I thought mourning dove but the feathers look too grey, and now I'm at a loss esp because of the strip on the tail (which must not be a "top" tail feather or I think I'd notice?!). Any ideas? I'm in the upper NE US.
CLOSED: ID from tail?
The tail feather looks like Feral Pigeon (Rock Dove, Rock Pigeon)

Thanks, Resin.
I usually do research before I post, and this time I didn't research until AFTER. Silly me. Notice the tail feathers towards the end of this page.

Mourning dove it is. Now to ponder what got it :)
I reckon that feather is too broad for a Mourning Dove tail feather - they are quite narrow

Not sure, I tried looking outside but couldn't see it. Only thing is in the 7 yrs I worked from home (and spent a lot of time staring out the window), I've only seen mourning doves in/around the neighborhood from the dove family. And the mourning doves are mostly always here (probably not so much during winter).
