fertile eggs, now what?

Los Gatos, CA

Ok, now my rooster is doing his thing..... And I have figured out I have some fertile eggs. I want to hatch them. My question is, how do I store the eggs until I have enough to hatch?

I have a incubator. But before, I just put the eggs that have arrived (shipped eggs!) right in the incubator. I think they can make it four or five days. But where do I keep them and how?

This explains it pretty well:

Thanks,

Is it possible to put one egg at a time in the incubator and then they would hatch in the order that they are placed in the incubator? Or wait until you have a batch of eggs?

It is much bettter to wait and do them all at once....the other is called a staggered hatch and is pretty hard on the later ones.

you can keep the eggs up to a week.

Thanks, I am collecting the eggs. I have then downstairs, (just in an egg carton) it should be about 55-60 degrees. The information says that I should control humidity. How do I do that?

I guess I could put them in the incubator with some water while I am getting more eggs. Would that work?

I wouldn't keep shipped eggs that long.

I just put my gathered eggs in an egg carton at room temp and turn them once a day.

Good Luck!
