Birds of Colombia

Tamesis, Antioquia, Colombia(Zone 12a)

Ok; Colombia is the country with the largest number of spices according to several sources. (wikipedia says 1871)
A true birdwatching paradise !!
I was lucky enough to be in the northern region close to the border with Panama known as the Darien Gap where the jungle is gorgeous and all it's creatures too.
I have some pictures that I will share with you and hopefully somebody can tell me the names of this birds (cuz I don't know, sorry...)
Please forgive me for the quality of the shots. No pro here.....

Willy.

Edit: Could this be a Green Hermit??

Here's a Ringed Kingfisher. I saw this bird in action and it was quite a treat. As you can see he's about to eat his catch.

This one guy will not stay still for more than 2"; it's very hard to get a good shot. Out of dozens of shots working in the jungle with very low light under the thick canopy this is the best I could do, sorry.....
I think it's a beautiful bird but don't know what it is called.
Black-chested Jay Cyanocorax affinis (thank you Resin!!)

Here's a Southern Lapwing. Beautiful !!! I wish he would have looked at me to get a front shot of him.
When I was a kid I had a couple (Male & Female) as pets in my back yard (loose, not in cages); very smart birds. I had them trained to eat from my hand. We kept their wings clipped for some time so they would not fly away but after some time they liked it there and they always came back to spend the night in their cage (they did spend the night in a cage) so we stopped clipping their wings. Man... they were loud......
Definitely.... my favorite bird....

They truly are... I miss them. we don't get them here in the US.

Here's a Woodpecker.... Lineated Woodpecker (thank you Pelletory !!!)

That's 23 birds; only 1848 to go; help please......

This is some kind of Hawk.
I apologize... this picture was taken at night and with flash. I was just resting outside on the hammock and happened to have the camera with me when I hear something in the dark landing a few feet from where I was. Surprisingly enough I was able to take a few shots before it flew away but unfortunately I did not have my external flash with me so I had to use the built in flash.

Not sure what, but not a Green Hermit. Still working on it - with 328 species of hummers to look though, not too easy!
