newbie to hibiscus

Marilyn Glen st. Mar, FL(Zone 9a)

I received two hibiscus starts last year from a dear lady north of here. I managed to get them to continue growing, the yellow one bloomed, the pink did not. Once bloomed though, all the leaves fell off, it looked like it died, and I thought they had both bit the dust. I have that effect on things. :)
But behold! One has returned this year!
It is still in the same pot that I planted it in last year. It is over a foot tall, and I'm wondering can I plant in it in the ground, and if so, how should I plant it, where, (sun, etc.) and does it take special dirt, etc. etc.
Any info any one can give me will be greatly appreciated. Or do I just leave it in the pot?

I'd put it in the ground, in a flowerbed that gets morning sun.

Good luck!

Thanks Molamola. I'll do that. Just morning sun? I have the perfect spot then. Thanks so much for the info.

POST pictures in a month or two, OK?
