Where's the parsley????

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

I have been to six garden centers here in north Florida from large chains to local centers and cannot find any parsley anywhere. The employees don't have any answers. Has there been a crop failure or is it the wrong time of year? I am really confused by this. I've always had great plants by now.

I miss it especially when setting it up as a garnish. Nothing else is quite so pretty or delicious.

I've seen a lot in the garden centers here. Lots of seed too. Maybe it is worth growing your own when it's not available commercially.

Truly - it'sone of the easiest (and fastest) things you can grow. I gorw it year 'round up here.

I agree Sequee. I started seed by wintersowing and was amazed at how it took off when put in ground.

I finally found some after four weeks of hunting but will take your advice for the future and grow my own. If I can start all of my own veggies, parsley should be a snap. Thanks for the advice.

Lowes, WalMart, and Publix grocery store all carry parsley plants. Our blaqck swallowtail butterflies will find it and the little catepillars will chow it down in a matter of a few days, so plant plenty extra, because you won't want to kill the lime green cats!
