I have never actually observed the new leaves on my Anthurium faustinomirandae as they have emerged. But I caught one just coming out and was surprised to see that it is bright red.

This is the mama, leaves measure about 18" x 30+ inches
They are red; some of mine come out with leaves almost the color of a Merlot. In my experience, the colors range from a light coppery red to a deep wine-red, but of course they all mature to green.
