I love this plant. Xanthosoma wendlandii. It goes dormant every fall, and then BAM in Spring it suddenly pops out again. Its an unusual Xanthosoma, no one believes that's what it is til they look it up.

I used to have one similar to that one, with the palmately divided leaves, only the feel and finish of the leaves was really just like a regular Xanthosoma and it had darkish petioles. The plant grew as tall as 2 to 3 feet and also went dormant in the winter. I wish I still had it now, but I must have lost it in Andrew, along with a lot of other really rare specimens!
