Next week my really beautiful Black Copper Marans rooster will turn 5 months old. So far he crows, a lot! I did not know they crow all day. That is no problem.
He hangs out with his group. (his two cuckoo marans hens) But so far, no "rooster" stuff going on. Or, not that I know of. He still runs away from my dominate hen.
When will I see any "rooster" stuff going on? Or will I see it? I am down at the coop quite a bit.

Nope, he is my only one. I hatched some Marans. I got only three.
He is still young.. I have a group of Seramas that have been crowing for a month and are not jumpin anything... well, not getting serious about it anyway.. they still have that lost look when they do.
zz, catscan or hay, I wanted to ask you about the cute lil black and white serama chicks you have.What i wanted to ask is what color do they usually turn out?We have one of those now and my dh has decided its his new lil pocket pet giggle i was hoping to give him some ideas of adult color so he can name it. also i wonder if you can tell if its a male or female yet?

All of ours that came from a black & mottled mom are pretty much the same.. black/white & some mottled..
