Hi, I am new to this and am going to start a hive. Now, I have bat boxes. The bats sleep in the boxes and at night they go out an eat insects. I would assume that the bees are all in the hive by then.
My question is do the bats bother the bees? Eat them?
Thanks!
Bees and Bats
Not a problem. The bats are nocturnal and are out feeding while the bees are snug in the hive. There are some diurnal (daytime active) fruit-eatting bats, but they won't bother your bees unless your bees are dressed like kiwi fruit and smelling of strawberries.
Got it!
To bed early and Kiwi and Strawberries are out for halloween costumes for my bees!
Thanks!
