First time owner of 4 ckickens. They are 3 1/2 months old and quite large. They free range during the day for about 4-5 hours and kept in the shade in their wired pen the rest of the time.(waiting for the coop to arrive). They have plenty of fresh air and food and water. Is this normal for them to pant especially the black cukoo maran.? I have 26 babies 4 days old too.

Mine panted their way through the summer last year, but seemed okay. A fan might help.

I was worried already too. Mine have been panting. I figured if they started now they would all die come summer. I do have a mister fan that is rated for outside use I plan on using too
