ha, Yep, big ones.

Wow, they are big! What breed are they?

Okmulgee, OK(Zone 6b)

CMoxon, the pigs are Large Black x Spot pigs. The Large Black is a rare, heritage breed of pig that excels in pasture based systems - (just in case you've never heard of them)

Excellent - I am a member of the ALBC and I remember seeing the Large Black on the pig list, but I didn't know it was ideal for pasture based raising. Glad to hear that they are doing so well for you. I don't have any pigs myself. I have sheep, goats & llamas. I can no longer eat lamb, so I have a feeling that if I got a pig, I would not be able to eat bacon any more, and I really really like bacon, so I avoid getting a pig! I don't think I really have the space for one either.

TulsaDawg - is everything ok there? I heard about all the tornadoes in OK but didn't hear anything about the Tulsa area. Hope you and all are fine.

Alba, TX(Zone 8a)

Those are some nice pigs! And they look sooooo healthy.

Loreen, we got lucky. Big storms went just north and just south of us, and both storms produced tornadoes. It's been an unusually calm spring, so I guess the state was due some bad weather.

terri, I just weaned them yesterday. They're humongous, and I know the 2 sows were glad to see the day finally arrive.

They are looking nice! Those sows did a good job.
