Not the kind of baby birds we usually see here, but thought that some of you might enjoy this anyway. My DM always has a pair of Canadian Honkers nest in her back yard every year, and this year they hatched out 6 little ones. Didn't get a real good picture, as this is only their second day off the nest, so didn't want to get too close! They can get a little grouchy and mean!

This same pair of parents are here every year, and always nest in the same spot. Guess they like it here, even with all the dogs and cats roaming around! And I know that geese mate for life (at least the domestic ones) so when only one shows up, it will be sad for us. Or maybe neither one will come, not sure. But we really enjoy having them every year. DM has lots of water around her house, and we are right in a flight pattern for them, so the whole neighborhood fills up with geese this time of year, and then in the fall for feeding on their way back south for the winter.
They're adorable. What a beautiful spot to enjoy themselves and their new family. Hope we'll be seeing more photos later on.
