I've never ordered from them nor been to their nursery, but hubby and I have a play day off from work tomorrow (it's his b-day) and I was thinking of making a road trip out of it and driving down there to pick up some blueberries, raspberries, grapes, etc and was wondering if any of you have ever been to their nursery in Morton... Would you recommend it?
Raintree nursery
Yes! I haven't been there for a number of years but I do mail order from them almost yearly. This year I bought a couple of blueberries from them. In the past I have gotten a wonderful plum tree "Beauty" and an amazing grape "Venus". Have fun!
They are a great place.
Cool, thanks guys! :)
Kur - my orchard is full of Raintree stock - wouldn't hesitate to order from them again. Hope you have fun!
BIG thumbs up for Raintree. I've been ordering from them for years & especially love their focus of hardy, edible plants.
I haven't been there but have wanted to. I've ordered a few things in the mail and they arrived nicely packaged.
It was a lovely drive but next time I will definitely just order by mail... The selection not in cold-storage was quite limited. I did get four very nice-sized blueberries though... two 'Darrow' and two 'Sharpblue' and a bunch of grapes out of cold storage... I temporarily planted them on the south side of the house, where it gets uber hot in the summer... until we can get our deer proof orchard done. I wonder how long it will take for them to 'wake' up... :)
I've never bought from them although I did try to visit them on the way down to Seaside, unfortunately I could not convince my dad to turn. I did attempt telekinesis but unfortunately it didn't work.
I'm glad to hear someone who is fairly close to me has had luck ordering from them. I was worried about how plants would arrive.
