I was actually looking up how to plant potato's in pallets and hay, I heard about it, when I ran across this little gem
Wonder if I can make it a true chicken coop by putting a floor and a legs...HUMMM Have to think about that...

Chicken Tractor on a Dime Budget..My kind of idea
That was interesting! The blue tarped PVC tractor at the beginning looks just like my first creations... the main problem with both his and mine is that you can't reach in and catch a chicken. You have to crawl in....yucky....or lift the whole thing and then they run wild.
Did you ever find instructions on growing potatoes in pallets? I have some in tall plastic clothes hampers...they are just starting to leaf out above the soil in the bottom.
Yes I did actually, make a box with the pallets, put newspaper down and then 10 inches of hay, then potato's and cover with hay... do more hay when the shoots come thru.. I have plenty of rotten hay that I think will work wonderful... I will find the link and post it, The issue is that the stores around here quit selling seed potato's so I thought I would buy some red taters and try it with them.
I love that idea! I don't have a table saw or sawzall to rip them, but I think I could do it with what I have.
Thankz for the tip about the potatoes too.. I see pallets on Craigslist all the time!
Thanks!
That description makes it sound like you never let the plants see the light of day! Really?
