Just in case any of you made it home with any mystery NOIDs
Post them here :-)
Deb
Here's mine... Turns out it is a Peony of some sort. If anyone knows which one, I would be obliged.
May 2nd N Central TX Unknown Plants need ID? Post here!
I have a couple I need to take pics of, will post later.
I just want to thank everybody for the lovely plants i received, especially the lovely Phlox pilosa, the Wahoo, and the beautiful clump of Lyreleaf sage in a milk jug, that was one healthy clump!!!
Josephine.
Plants just seem to love jugs LOL. Seriously, I always treat them to some miracle grow so they get big before I plant them or give them as the case may be.
BTW Josephine, what is the sc. name for the asters you gave me?
Cheryl
OK I need information more than ID's.
Walking iris...pics are much darker leaved than mine, sun or shade, will it like soggy soil? I am getting different advice online so I want some real TX grower advice.
Cheryl
Hello Cheryl, the Willowleaf aster is Symphyotrichum praealtum, it blooms in the fall.

Cheryl....the Wlk Iris that I shared have been in the sun for a while, and most of the ones pictured in PFiles are as house plants. You can do either, but we put them in hanging baskets on the deck and they get all but late afternoon sun. They are blooming their heads off right now. I don't feel they take any special care, but I wouldn't plant in the ground; you will miss the grandure of the blooms as they drape and make babies. BTW....don't dead head them, when the bloom dies a new growth comes from there.

I will definitely be posting some pics tomorrow.
Tina
I, too, want to thank everyone for sharing such healthy plants. The plants at the round up were better than most of the stuff I see at local nurseries.
Carla
We did have a nice bunch of plants this year. We missed you ...noticed you snuck out before door prizes. I am sure we will see you again in the fall.
Sorry I had to leave, Sheila. And you bet you'll see me in the fall. :-)
Carla
Tina_A #1 is lavender petunia :)
#s 2 and 3 are Obedient plant, and #7 Russian sage.
I would never disagree with Josephine, but #7 looks like Passion Flower. Perovskia leaves are very finely cut gray/green.
#5 looks like catmint, but I can't be sure.
Oops!! I meant #5 is Russian sage, had the wrong #
Number 5 is russian sage, that is one of my plants and trust me thats what it is.

Sheila, #4 is Rattle Bush, Sesbania, drummondii
http://wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=SEDR
and it came from the one i had that died this winter, but i had some seeds.
#5 Golden Groundsel, Packera ovobabata,
http://wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=PAOB6
and that also came from me. They are both lovely plants.
Josephine.
Thanks Josephine...I was so tired that I didn't tag them. I had already looked up the groundsel and love it! I remember your big rattle bush on the slope.
Tina, your #4 is Queen's Tears (from Smock). After looking at the pictures of it in his photo album, I had to have one.
Carla
Sheila, can't help with your plant IDs but I did see on the news that the new pet adoption center in the Hulen PetsMart has already done over 100 adoptions in the first 12 days of being opened. How fantastic!

Back to your regular thread, now. LOL
Yes Stephanie...I think I told you we went to the opening and got to tour their facilities. If anyone is thinking of adopting they need to check it out. Pets Mart Chairities has got a winner there, and may do it in a lot of other stores later. We got our little friend Daisy from the Chuck Silcox Center and couldn't be happier. If DH had come to the RU he would have brought her.
Sorry about the off topic, but it is definately a worthy cause. They haven't had to put a healthy animal down due to space since it began.

we adopted a dog late last summer---and it looks a lot like your daisy! ours is a small (5 pound) rat terrier mix--only 5 pounds! and we couldn't love him more
oh--more off topic--sorry!
