More lambs!

Alfred Station, NY(Zone 5b)

We finally got some twins today, and they are gorgeous! One is a black mouflon, the other is a black grey with lots of white "flashing" (which will fade eventually as she gets greyer and greyer).

They are beautiful! I love the flashing - I've never seen that before!

Thanks for posting the photos! Very cute and love the dog!

Really nice. I take it the sheep are for fiber. How do you harvest it?

Portland, OR(Zone 8b)

Pretty babies! It looks like the grey one was graffitied. Do you shear those kind of sheep?

Alfred Station, NY(Zone 5b)

Graffitied! LOL! Yes, it does sort of look like someone took a can of spray paint to her.

Yes, we shear them. My husband holds them and I use electric shears. Sometimes it's a bit of a rodeo!

They have a double-coat fleece. They do naturally shed in the Spring, but we usually shear them anyway, as well as shearing in the Fall for the prime spinning fleece.

They are also a good meat breed, and a few people have set up Icelandic dairies, so they can be milked as well. A lot of my stock came from a sheep dairy in NY.

Glad you enjoyed the pics!

All purpose animals. Best kind to have.

Yep, that was the main thing that got me interested in Icelandics. I'm a very practical sort of person. :)

Gallesfarm - this little ewe was born this morning to my Oreo, an Icelandic, and the dad is a solid black BFL. Do you think she will grey out or keep the pattern? It's almost symmetrical.

My bet is that she will grey out like a full Icelandic would. It will be fun to see what happens!

She is SO cute!
