Stolen Silkies

(Zone 6b)

This lady named Amy says her prize winning silkies were stolen last night. This is the second instance I've heard of silkies stolen. Well, no, this the third I guess. I'm going to post the pictures of her birds so you can be on the lookout.

The rooster's name is Nitro.

Another picture of her birds.

I hope she can recover her birds.

Lovely birds, what a pity!

How would one prove a certain chicken belongs to them unless it had a chip like dogs or cats do??? It makes me sick that people can stoop so low. I hope she finds her birds but I don't know how that can be done. Hay

Really strange if someone is actually traveling around and targeting these people with the excellent silkies. That seems too strange.

That one lady's Mihalik silkie chicken was stolen while it was in a cage at the show. She was so upset about it. These really pretty ones are selling for hundreds of dollars. So, you know how people are... but criminals are always found out one way or the other.

They are sooo pretty. I could just scoop one of those up in that 3rd picture and snuggle it.
This world is filled with idiots. I hope whomever is doing that gets caught. They will get whats coming to them some day. I just hope she can get her beauties back.

That is just sick.. but I'm sure chickens are not immune to the stupidity out there. I don't think it's weird, just sad.
I spoke to a guy that bought some chickens from me and he said he father has a security camera, locks and even had to move his birds to a storage facility that didn't look like a coop to deter the thieves! I'm not surprised one bit that show birds are stolen. What a shame. I'd be completely shattered to loose a show bird!
