I'm in the northwest part of Houston (FM 1960 and S.H. 249), and I need to get rid of a patch (about 4' x 3') of flowering dill. I don't want to just rip it out and pitch it (or compost it) if someone can use it (all or some) - either for canning dill pickles or for salads or cooking.
So, if anyone's interested, please dmail me - and I'll do any requests for it on a first-come/first gets basis. I can't keep it later than Monday (3 May).
Will try to post a picture of it later today.
Anyone need/want fresh dill (including flower heads)?
Hmm.... guess I can't just add a pic to my original post, so here it is.
BTW - I'll also add that I've used no chemicals or sprays on the dill. It's planted on my "habitat" island - which I specifically plant to draw beneficial insects to my yard. There had been some caterpillars hanging around on it (black swallowtail and anise swallowtail), but I think the wasps got them because I haven't seen them for a few days. :(
The wind that we've had here the past few days has really played havoc with the dill (and all other tall plants - including the daisies in the foreground). But that shouldn't affect the quality of the dill.

Edited again to add: Whoever wants it will have to come pick it up. And, fyi, most of the stalks are about 6 feet tall.

oh gee sure wish I was closer I would gladly take it off your hands
I would have to talk to my daughter that lives in Humble on humble westfield to see if I could talk her into meeting you someplace.......mmmmmmmmm
I'm sorry, Mibus2, but I won't have time to drive anywhere to meet someone. I'm having 3 yards of mulch delivered in a few days and I'll be busy shoveling and spreading that (as my husband has said he doesn't want to get involved with that - he's tired of all of the gardening stuff I've had him doing for the past 3 months... before and after my neck surgery).
