a friend of mine has a Provence Lavender plant in a pot that about 2 - 2 1/2 ft tall. However, only about the top 6 - 8 inches of each stem has leaves, the rest/ bottom portion of the plant is bare. I already know that this plant is lacking adequate sun as she keeps it on a west facing covered porch, but even moving the plant to full sun, will it leaf out? Do we need to cut it back?
Ive heard cutting it back to a bare part in the stem could kill the plant. So how do we get this plant to look bushy and healthy again apart from setting it in full sun?
Thanks in advance!

Need Help for Spindly Provence Lavender
If it was me,I would prune it back by two thirds. This is the right time of the year to prune it.Give it some slow release fertilizer and a shot of lime.Any chance it is rootbound? They like a medium that drains well.Edge
its in a pretty large pot, so i dont think its root bound yet, will prune it back and hope for the best. thanks for the advice!
