Okay, I just got back from Turks and Caicos (Provo) and I'm hoping this first bird is a Bahamaian (sp) mockingbird?
CLOSED: Two birds from Trip
I think the Mocker is a Northern Mockingbird. No dark stripe on the throat, no streaks on underside and the white patch on wing all indicate Northern. But, wait for the experts...
The Osprey at the water's edge is a nice catch! Was that just a puddle of water or were you out in the water with your camera? Eeeek. :O)

Agree :-)
Well thanks, I was hoping for a new bird, the island just didn't have any trees so it was frustrating.
As for the osprey - he was at waters edge on a marina salt water inlet and I was on the other side of the water from him on land. I'm so happy for my 18X camera that I was able to get this shot.
Ditto to Northern Mockingbird and Osprey.
The osprey is probably an adult male (females and immatures are more likely to have brown streaks on the breast).
