Bluebonnets and yellow roses

Grand Prairie, TX

One of my favorite spots in my garden right now is my bed of Sunshine roses, which is sharing its space with lots of bluebonnets! What a show.

Wow, that's cool!

Are those little short roses, or are the bluebonnets super tall?

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

That is a beautiful combination! I was wondering the same as above, are the roses mini's? I only found Carefree Sunshine when searching "sunshine rose". Is that it?

Grand Prairie, TX

Yes, Carefree Sunshine is the name of the rose. The bluebonnets are tall! I guess they like my garden soil. ;-)

Absolutely Beautiful! So -- what is your soil like??? Sandy?? Lots of compost?? Mulch??

I want to plant some bluebonnets this fall and was wondering about putting them in a flower bed, but also wondering what else to plant in that bed for summer color. Would a deep layer of mulch keep the bluebonnet seeds from finding light and life come spring?

So many questions -- sorry. All help appreciated!

Absolutely gorgeous! I think you should enter both pics in the photo contest this year.

That's beautiful. How did you get the Bluebonnets to do so well in your garden? I've tried several times and had no luck.

That photo is breathtaking!
