have several types of datura and passiflora incarnata for passiflora seeds only

Hamilton, Canada

Just started with passifloras and looking especially for the passiflora vitifolia or other red varieties; Blue boutique, blue bouquet or other blues; and any yellow flowered variety first please. Will consider other passifloras after. I have 12 varieties of datura seeds some of which are very rare. You may also select seeds from my tropical seed collection. Email me if you have passiflora seeds to trade. Thanks.

You do know that P. 'Blue Boutique' and P. 'Blue bouquet' are hybrids, seeds will not be true.

Tim,
that is fine as most passiflora do not come true from seed especially if they are open pollinated so I am aware of that. Cuttings, on the otherhand are true, but I'm not looking for cuttings. I prefer seeds as I like the variety of tones that are produced. For example, I have passsiflora edulis and the flowers on several different plants are slightly different in color. They were all grown from seed and were open pollinated. Thanks for your infor though.

Joy,

I tried, but have not set any fruit on P. 'Blue Boutique' nor P. 'Blue Bouquet'. The same with P. 'Lavender Lady', I have tried since last year, no fruit yet.

Hi Tim,
Do you think that they are varieties that need to be hand pollinated, I'm curious to know? There is a passiflora site that I recently joined that posts pics (only pics) of passiflora...there is a good example of 2 clones of p. incarnata 'Alba' and each of the flowers have different coloring and slightly different growth habits. The photos are of excellent quality!! now if I can figure out how to post the images..hmmmmmmmm.will try and figure it out.

For anyone who wishes to trade for the passiflora incarnata that I have...they seeds are 'open pollinated' and I package them 20 seeds in a trade unless I otherwise indicate. The same is true for the datura seeds...20 in a package unless it is a 'rare' variety and I indicate otherwise. Thanks.

Joydie,

That is how I pollenated all the flowers, by hand. Most likely that are sterile.
