We need a lot more info. Were they planted together? sun? shade? What type of soil? Any additives to the soil. Watering?

I hear you. My wife can kill a plastic plant. No amount of coaching has been successfull and I have been at it for almost 50 years. More important than conditions is attitude. You have to enjoy plants and not try to force them. Benign neglect leads to more success than getting uptight and overprotective. If you just relax and work with nature you will do fine.

Key words there, Farmerdill!..Can't force Mama Nature to do what YOU want her to do! Success can only be achieved by working WITH her---to do what she's going to do anyway... Found that out after moving south 50 years ago. Still as true today as it was then... Mother Nature is a 500 lb gorilla with a bad attitude, and it's best not to disagree with her...but she's a little puppy when you do it HER way...been my experience, anyway.

Isn't it Tony Avant who says you are not a true gardener until you have killed a plant at least 3 times?

Ardesia
Have you ever been to open house at Tony's Nursery? He is a hoot.
I think the next one is in July but I may have the date wrong.

I have been to events at PD and he is a hoot. He is very clever in person which is not reflected in his catalog comments which I think can be a bit much. Funny for sure , but there can be too much of it.

Actually, there is an open house this coming & the following weekends. If my schedule permits, I might try to slide down there this weekend, as I'll be in the area anyway to take my final exam.

If anyone else is going and would like to meet up on Sat or Sun, that could be fun.

Ain't that the truth. I've learned that the more I try to "help" the faster they die. If I plant something like a tree or shrub (doing it right) and then leave it pretty much alone, it will probably thrive. That's why I pretty much gave up on house plants, except for African Violets, which I can forget for a coupla weeks, and they prefer it.

I can walk past an African Violet and it dies.

I don't know why these haven't dome the same as any other house plant, and keeled over. Maybe because they are "rescues", from the bottom of the 99 cent basket at the market. And I do try......
