Any ideas? It's getting ready to bloom and I don't know what it is! LOL

Another Lost Tag
I'm not positive, but may be a dianthus????
Crow
Hmmm...I have a dianthus and it's blooms don't look like this. I was thinking it was either some kind of aster or phlox.
It looks a lot like my phlox.
I didn't think of that. My phlox looks nothing like that. Well, once it blooms and you figure out what it is for sure, let us know :)
I think it is Phlox pilosa, Prairie phlox.
Well, hmmmmm....I don't remember getting one of those at a RU before and I'm pretty sure I didn't buy it, so I guess I'll wait til it blooms and see what it is for sure! LOL
I looked through plant files, and I think it's Creeping Phlox, phlox subulata. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/973/
We'll see in a few days when it blooms!
nope, its not a creeping Phlox.. its too tall for it.. I dont know what it is but its not a creeping phlox...lol..
Okay, you're right. Not a Creeping Phlox. I did have one of those, but it died last summer. Wrong kind of foliage. I do know it's some kind of phlox, though. One of the flowers opened up today, light purple.
Perhaps it's a Drummond Phlox? There's a Drummond Phlox tag nearby, but I thought I'd planted red Drummond Phlox (that subsequently died).
18 inches tall, lavender blooms are the leaves hairy at all?
I don't think so. I haven't paid attention, really.
Here's my phlox. It is supposed to be "native", it may be "Louisana". I didn't keep the tag, and bought it at least 10 years ago ~ long before I kept records.
I still think it is Phlox pilosa.
I think Josephine might be right. If you look at pics of pilosa it has a lot of variability.

LOL everyone! Isn't it fun trying to figure stuff out?!? It's starting to bloom, so I'll take a pic of it in bloom and a better pic of the foliage. I like the idea of phlox pilosa because I think that's a wonderful little plant!
It surely is, blooming now at my house with a lovely scent too.
Thats a good tag, cause it looks just like my plants and thats what they are. I love that plant, it blooms for a nice period early and never has any problems to speak of.
