I have an acquaintance that wrote me looking for a farmers market in or around the Fairbanks, Alaska area. Does anyone know of one? This was the closest forum I could find to Alaska.
Thanks for any help you can give me..

Fairbanks, Alaska farmers markets?
There are many farmers market around town. But don't plan on anything until end of July. Nothing is growing up there until May. There is a guy who brings produce from Yakima in a big truck but if he sells out before getting there there is no produce. He starts in Ketchikan, Wrangell, Petersburg, Juneau, Valdez, Haines, Skagway, then up to Anchorage if he has any left. Then he returns to Yakima to load up again. He makes a mint on the best produce that alaska gets. That is the worst thing about Alaska is the produce, it is pretty bad and very expensive.
Thank you so much for the info; I will forward it on.
If you're on Facebook, there's a Fairbanks, Alaska fan page. It gets quite a bit of activity - they would love to help you, I'm sure. But Steve's right. The growing season is short and doesn't start very early. But those long nights do make the vegetables grow and ripen fast.
