Nursery advice from you East Texas folks

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

I am looking for a nursery generally in the Tyler area that carries a big selection of azaleas. It doesn't have to be in Tyler; it could be anywhere in the vicinity. We're specifically looking for some varieties that grow in East Texas that aren't widely carried in the alkaline Dallas area. What is y'all's favorite place?

Neal, just north of I-20 on 69 left side of the road about a half mile up. Not a large selection but good plants at a fair price. Harris is on 69 south of I-20 several miles on the left. They have a real large wholesale area in back but may not have all they have up front. Neal is always my first choice.

Thanks, Ken.

Breedlove Nursery & Landscape also has a pretty good selection. Here is their website with driving directions (somewhere in the website):

They are a bit pricey, IMHO, but it is fun to walk through their gardens and get ideas!

Does Blue Moon have azaleas? I can't remember, I think I need caf this morning. Trying to give it up! Another fun place in the Tyler area:

Hope this helps!

Thanks, Terri. I don't know about Blue Moon and azaleas, but it sure sounds like a fun place to visit!

Hughes Nursery is located on Hwy 69 south of Tyler. They carry them and is a good place to see nice plants. I think the prices are good.

Oh, and do you need a bird house? An expensive bird house? Edom has a bird house guy. I want one sooooo bad for my new rose bed but haven't had a chance to get to Edom yet.

LOL. Actually I always need birdhouses. This trip isn't for me, though. It's for my dad the azalea fanatic.
