My DH and I saw this beauty circling our house catching a thermal. I was lucky enough to have the camera handy.
Northern Goshawk? Maybe?
Sharp-shinned Hawk - it is a fairly small bird, tinged orange below, and the tail is square-cornered, which excludes Cooper's.
Gos is a big bird, about the same size as a Red-tailed Hawk, with different wing and body proportions.

I don't see yellow legs. He was flying ver low. Wouldn't they be visible?
Another way to tell Sharp-shinned from Coopers in flight is the Sharp-shinned looks like it has no neck. You can easily see that in your shot. Good one!
I've been reviewing photos of other sharpies and (of course) I agree with Resin.
