Ah yes, now I see, thanks a bunch!

Yes, European Starling. First time you have had one in your yard Chris? I have them here year round.

Yes, it is the first one I have noticed. I guess they are everywhere, I just have not had one in my yard.

Yep, European Starling

Not too many of them here either, even though they belong here :-((

Strange that both starling & House sparrows are declining? There are tons of both birds in the US, Canada? I guess that the sparrows got such a start during horse & buggy time, that they have been able to flourish ever since.

House Sparrows and Starlings do not appear to be declining in New Orleans. They seem to be taking over, more than anything else.

Tiller, OR(Zone 8a)

I haven't seen a House Sparrow here (lucky me!) in 3 years now, but there are many at lower elevations. I saw about six males fighting at Herbert's Pond a couple days ago. They can be downright nasty!

I have one family of year round Starlings.

I stopped serving suet in early March and have not seen them (Starlings)...the suet has been back up for a couple of weeks now and have not seen any. They like to throw the food out of the feeder's :( as do the Brown-headed Cowbirds.
