We have had to keep bandaging her since my dog attacked her on New Years Eve. Her skin has almost totally grown back. Knowing that the dog is bigger and stronger and has bigger teeth than she has, not that chickens have any teeth that I've noticed, and is more than willing to attack her when she's eating, she has still decided to have a stare down with Lucy. When you see them both puff up, but neither one is ready to give ground, I just think, oh goodness, a kerfuffle is about to happen. I 'm just amazed that this chicken, who needs to get her bandages changed every week, is wanting to take on the dog that did that to her. Yesterday, they were doing their stare down, and Lucy attacked, but Claire just flew over her.
Claire is pushing the envelope
It sounds like you have an alpha dog and an alpha chicken. Hope Claire doesn't end up as Lucy's chicken dinner :(
Well that, and I think she's holding a grudge. She's not as bold as Alice, but is more aggressive. They both own the cat and the squirrels. If she can take food from the cat, she just can't understand why she can't also do that with the dog. Both Lucy and New Cat hate them. When they see them coming, they just turn around and go the opposite direction.
