Amorphophallus paeoniifolius

These are the largest A. paeoniifolius I've come across in the wild. They're nearly as big as my largest at home. And that's without anyone fertilising or looking after them in any way.

There were lots of 'pups' around the base of the bigger plants. That would have held them back a bit.

They certainly look impressive out in the bush.

Holy Cow! Those look great - want to trade for some corms????

This is the one at home. Photo taken back in mid February but it hasn't grown any taller since. And it's not showing any signs of going dormant yet.

Tommy, Amorphs are great plants. Will have to check those wild ones later to see how big their tubers are. My big paeoniifolius is 227 centimetres tall (7.45 feet), but for the tuber I'll have to wait a while yet to find out. It started off the season 2016 grams weight (4.44 pounds).

My bulbifer, symonianus and prainii (all in the ground) have hibernated already. Some of the paeoniifolius in the ground have as well. And the titanum (in a pot) is still growing with no sign of calling it quits for the season. The bulbifer produced about 12 bulblets and the Symonianus produced 3. I always like to have a few extra around. I've got about a dozen galbra, all still small. And peoniifolius at last count was around the 100 mark, but only about a dozen of those are large so far.
