not one bloom this year

Windsor, CA(Zone 9b)

Hola, Only the first year that I planted the daffodils (maybe 6 years ago) did they flourish and bloom. the last several years the greenery comes up and there are a few blooms. This year the greenery came up and not one singly solitary daffodil blossom. What can be the problem? Help!! Thanks, Xuling

Maybe time to divide them up, give 'em some space.

Have you been cutting off the foliage after they bloom? The foliage feeds the bulbs, so you must let it die back on it's own. I have patches of daffs they have never been dug up and they boom every year and the patch keeps getting bigger. There are also daffs out in the country that thrive on neglect.
I know that the foliage starts looking unsightly. Here is what I do, I gently start to push the long leaves down and pull it into a circle and tease it to the ground. By then other plants around it start looking good and those plates will catch you eye. When the daff foliage starts getting real yellow looking a gentle tug will release from the bulbs. and you can compost them.

Hola, I have never cut off the foliage. Always I have left the floiage on until it turned brown and started withering and blowing away. xuling Maybe I will dig them all up and replant them in smaller clumps??? xuling

Could it be possible that they are not suited to your warm climate? Not enough chill hours?

That is a very good thought. When I first planted them they grew every year, but there were fewer every year, and now none. :( xuling
