What is happening to my Snoopy Begonia?

Saint Louis, MO

As spring sprung, I noticed that my B. Snoopy started having new growth. However the new leaves are completely different from the mature leaves. Is this a case of reversal to the original parent type plant or the juvenile leaf form of B. Snoopy?

Here's a close up view of the rhizome showing new and old leaves originating from the same rhizome...

Tru,

It appears you have another plant in there. It looks like saxifraga stolonifera (strawberry begonia). I could be wrong but that's what it looks like from the first picture. It makes a great shade groundcover.

I wonder if the strawberry begonia seeded from another pot. Wow! Amazing!

It's a two-fer!

Got to luv those volunteers!

It may have been there all along. Yep, a two-fer. I've gotten several extra begonias this way. Two in a pot (sometimes the helpers don't know the difference and end up putting two different plants in the same pot because when they are young they might look very similar), sometimes three (my big Challenger had two different begonias in the same pot for no extra money).

Then if you are lucky enough to be with someone with a keen eye you might get a begonia that has sported. I have a Deco Daddy that has all the classic patterns plus extra huge green leaves (not an extra begonia but a sport of the original plant).

I've also gotten a species begonia with a emerald ripple peperomia in it. The begonia eventually died but I still have the peperomia.

If this is a saxifraga you will want to remove it eventually because it will take over the pot.

Here was a nice stand of it at my last house in bloom.
