Am redoing the backyard - anyone interested in some Giant Lirope? Ardesia Japonica ground cover? or Holly Ferns (about 6 of them)? Planning to dig it out this coming weekend (weather permitting). Redecorating the backyard - ready for a change. Live near downtown Houston - reply if interested. I just hate to throw away a plant.
Anyone interested?
I would love the holly ferns if no one else wants them.
Lynne.. I am soooo interested in the liriope... can you mail them?? I'll gladly pay postage!. Or trade if I have anything you'd like! Marilyn.. can I have 1 Holly fern..LOL
Thanks,
Becky
Sure, Becky. I don't mind sharing. :-) Do you want some not-so-giant liriope, too? I have some dwarf liriope with white flowers that I'd love to get rid - I mean, gift you with. LOL
Marilyn.. you are just tooo sweet!! Is the Liriope taller than monkey grass.. if so I say please... YES!!!!. I would lovefor you to get rid of it.. I mean gift it to me!LOL If there's something I have maybe we could trade?? .And you're sweet to want to share the holly fern, and poor Lynne hasn't even said she would give to either of us..LOL.. Hey.. you need to go to Jeris RU in LA in May. The other Marilyn from the weather forum will be there and y'all could meet!! I told her today that I had met you!!
BTW.. Lynne.. didn't I meet you a few years back at Charlenes RU??
Tell ya what, Becky... When I pick up my holly ferns from Lynne (I'm only a few miles away from her), I'll pick up your giant liriope, too, and then I'll mail it to you with my little liriope. Neither liriope nor ferns will mind being shipped, so that will be easy.
Going to the LA RU would be really fun. :-) I think May's pretty booked up already for us, though.
Marilyn.. once again you're a sweetheart!! I'll dmail you!! Thanks girl!
Thanks for taking the plants off my hands - and Marylyn - thanks for mailing the Lirope - I'll help you - it's HUGE. Have been stewing all night on how much that might cost for one plant - they are probably 12 inches across and about 2' tall each. Could probably be broken apart, too. I'll get with Marylyn to setup a time this weekend.

Lynne.. Thanks so much for offering the Liriope, and I am so happy to be the precipitant for it!! Please do as little as possible... just throw it in a box and I'll pay the postage!! I think it's going to be like Christmas all over again...LOL
Thanks again Marilyn for doing this for me.. I so appreciate it.. and I owe both of you!
When & where is Jeri's RU in LA? If it doesn't conflict with my pre-planned month, I'll bring you this stuff fr Lynne. Saving all of ya'll the expense & trouble of shipping it!
PLUS, I'll throw in some I've been wanting to get rid of!!!
After all, you babysat my grass all last winter!!! lol
LOL Linda.. well I babysat it but I sure wasn't a good babysitter..LOL... It's near Baton Rouge I think.. I thought you said you were coming to it last Fall when she posted on the ETRU thread?? Either way is fine with me.. Thanks for offering!! Hey.. what do you mean get rid of the stuff..LOL.... I LUV the stuff!!
I have some that is trying to move into my ginger bed!!! Now, it was okay that Ike took all my PI lilies & spread them all over the ginger bed but this lirope does not belong in there. So, I have excess to, to go to a good home!
Going to ck on this RU!
Do you know that we are only a little over 100 miles apart? I finally looked it up Mapquest! Heck, you are almost as close as
Sandy (Ilovejesus)!
Yeah, I didn't think we were that far apart.. as the crow flies anyway! Sooooo looks like we might have another get together, that we were talking about.. eh??..LOL
Here's the link. that will be the trade list thread. We just haven't gotten to making a complete list yet!

OH.. we're going to wholesale nurseries on Friday before the RU..... yippeeee..LOL.. Like i need another plant period, but these are cheap!!
I found the 'Central' thread & am watching it.
Where are the nurseries that ya'll are going to? Forest Hill?
Sure, would like some specific names of these nurseries!
Yep Forest Hill... I'll try to get the link. Jeri said there are over 100 wholesale nurseries in that town.... better start collecting cans..lol.. so we have enough money!
Definitely would like that link! Smock & I were going on our way to Madri Gras. But when the forecast said snow in BR, I decided that we had better stay down south & get on to LaPlace.
With that many nurseries, I need to narrow it down by product. So many plants & so little $$! lol
So... I'm going to pick the ferns and liriope up from Lynne this weekend (if the rain holds off long enough for her to dig them up.) Am I giving the liriope to Smockette to take to Becky? Where and when do you want to meet?
I guess so Marilyn... I think Linda is on her way to Bubbles Sandi's house and I'm not sure of her plans, as to when she can pick them up. If it's too much trouble, I don't have a problem with you going ahead and mailing them to me , but I want whatever is easiest for you!!! I just appreciate all of you trying to come to my rescue..lol, so i can get the Liriope!! My place is sure looking good from all the sweet Dgers and all the plants that I have been given! Maybe Linda will post here shortly.
OH btw.. Marilyn... please send that rain on up here.. we are soooo dry!!.. LOL
We're pretty dry, too. It keeps looking like it's going to rain, but we haven't actually gotten any.
I'm still in Austin but headed home tomorrow pm. Marylyn, it won't be tomorrow & I have to work Tues. But will try & get them soon.
I know I can leave them out of the GH b/c if my deer would eat them, they should have already eaten mine & I wouldn't be trying so hard to get rid of them!!! lol
No hurry. I stuck them in my garden next to my regular liriope. They'll be happy there until you're ready to get them. :-)
Thanks Linda and Marilyn.. and Lynne!!! Really Linda if it's gonna be too much I can pay the shipping!!
One thing for sure.. you can leave Liriope out on top of the ground, and it seems almost as happy..lol.. I guess you just can't kill the stuff, and that's another reason I like it so much!
