CLOSED: Help with a bird I just can't get a good picture of.

(Sharon)SouthPrairie, WA(Zone 7a)

I have a bird that is absolutely driving me bonkers and has for the last few springs. I can't get a view on it, it is quite elusive. It sits high in the trees and makes a call: tweet, chee ree. It seems to travel with the house finches that arrive here in about mid-March. I have tried some of the on-line bird id sources and have failed to figure it out. I have also looked at and listened to most of the birds that are supposed to be arriving at that time, to no avail. Have you any clues for me? I have FINALLY gotten a recording on my camera video. Is it possible to D-mail (or E-mail) that to someone who might be able to help me out?
By the way, I live in the forested foothills of the Cascade Mountain range and have lots of conifers and also alder and maple.

Brightened the pic there, it looks most like a House Finch.

Looks like a House finch to me, but you said it was traveling with House Finches. That implies it looks a little different.

A video would be helpful and i would like to take a look and here the call. Please send to me via D-mail.

Thanks,

Greg

Tried to D-mail, but apparently it doens't accommodate videos. Anyone have another suggestion?

Put a video of the bird calling on you tube. Here is the link:

Ideas will be very welcome. Sharon

I had some birds last year in my pines and I thought they were house finches, but when I looked closer, they were white winger cross bills. Here is a link were you can hear the birds calls.

Thanks, Ispied. I went to that site and listened to all of the finches there. Didn't find the sound that I have recorded. Maybe it isn't a finch at all................

Did you listen to the white winged cross bill?

I did. It's sound is much more raspy than the one I am trying to id. I just went back to double check.

I FINALLY got a better look at this bird. I have concluded that it is a female house finch. She certainly was melodic for a female bird and sounds nothing like her male counterpart.
