I didn't ID these birds last x-mas because the pictures were terrible. We were looking into the sun for most of the trail. Now that I'm actually making a life list, I don't miss any!
This first one appears to be a phoebe or flycatcher. Can you tell what kind? The reddish color on it made me wonder if it's a Say's Phoebe. I have one more photo of it after this one. This was taken in Southern California in Peter's Canyon which is near Tustin.
Here is the 2nd pic of the same bird.
I assumed these were Mississippi Kites, but just want to check. Again, southern California end of December. I brightened the pic a lot. Hope it doesn't make you blind.

Sparrows make me crazy. Any idea which one this is?
This was taken in the same area and I think it's the same kind of sparrow, but I'm not positive. Again, really blinding, terrible photo. Sorry.
This bird has very red undertail coverts as you will see in the next pic.
