I need to finish up the staking, finish up the red mulch covers and then find a place to put my tent so I can go looking for the cursed horned catepillar.

Have you done this 'all in containers' thing before? What is your reasoning? Mine has been because of gophers and rabbits, but found rabbits can/will jump into the pots.

Joy, I can't wait to see pics of your garden later in the season!

Joy - what are your potatoes in? That strawberry thingie is unusual to me, have never seen something like that. Sure would make picking easier!

quilt girl: My taters are in smart pots. That is a strawberry topsy turvy and I am beginning to believe a mistake, I like the EBs better for strawberries.

Joy - did you get the storm that came thru central FL today??? I tried to have everything ready, but still had some stems snap. The hail was horrible. Oak branches down on some ;-(

Joy - I see bands around some of your buckets - are they sticky traps?

You havd made quite an investment in your supplies. Good luck with your style of gardening, and let us know what kind of yields you get.

Garden glory: Nope; but we did get an awful oil spill.

Honeybee, those bands you are talking about are silver masking tape holding the mulch cover on the buckets, I did not half enough for all of them, they were the red plastic flags I talked the lumber yard out of. I did put yellow stickie cards around the tomato plants and also found a how to make your own on line for the stickys, they work great but aren't cheap.

Joy, thanks for the explanation.

Personally, I don't like to use yellow stickies in the garden because they also trap "good bugs" - but indoors they are great for trapping gnats and fruit flies!

Honeybee: They let you know where you have the worst concentration of bugs too, I noticed, will have to spray tonight.
