the work was worth it

this spring I created a fountian out of EE castings... some of you might have seen it when I posted about the making it on the garden art and T to T forums.... Well today I was siting on my porch visiting with my girlfriend when I had the honor of watching a ruby throated hummer come to rest on the edge of one of the leaves and proceed to take a bath.. IT WAS SO COOL!!! he took a few drinks and then got down to business and for his size the water flew..lol.. he wiggled and he waggled into the water and then fluffed himself up!!! he was there for quite a while till another male chased him away.. and of course my camera was in the house and not on the porch...
While I have water features cause I love water seeing him take a bath made all the effort and work worth it.. it was one of those ahhh moments...

Yes, they sure are adorable, I love it when they sit on a little branch and preen themselves.
